Sold to the Highest Bidder!

It’s amazing what you don’t know about the real estate profession if you’re not directly involved!  Last week Region 2 of the California Association of Realtors® hosted its annual Education Day and Vendor Expo.  Approximately 300 people from across counties in Northern California and Southern Oregon attended the event.

The packed agenda included topics to keep Realtors'® apprised of current and upcoming legislation, liability, economic trends affecting the housing industry and tools available to help real estate professionals in their businesses.

We attended this event as one of 40 vendors, all of which are in some way associated with and/or supporting the real estate market.  While we were there we got quite an education ourselves.  We were amazed at how much attention to detail is required to complete a transaction, the liability issues to be aware of and the legal pitfalls to avoid.  Thank goodness when we sold our home in the Bay Area we had a great Realtor®!

During the breaks from the sessions we spoke with many attendees looking for information and ideas for closing gifts and ways to keep their name in front of prospective clients. In the upcoming weeks we will be meeting with some of these Realtors® to help them with their promotions.  We’ve also set up an Idea Showroom on our website for “Real Estate Ideas”. This may help businesses associated with or trying to reach the real estate market (though a good promotional products program could easily use these products for other industries as well!)

Kudos to Joyce Middleton, House of Realty in Redding. She and her team did a great job putting this event together. The line-up of speakers was impressive.  If you’re a Realtor® in the North State and you didn’t attend you missed a great learning opportunity!
